Brushing Your Teeth

Lupita can brush her teeth!?

Brushing her lower right back teeth.

Brushing her upper left molars.

The back of her front teeth too. She knows proper dental hygiene!

Morning Glory 1

I planted morning glory seeds last Monday. I hadn't done it since I was in the first grade. Unnecessary step to be worried if it would grow well, because the first sprout appeared in few days. Can't wait to see flowers although I don't know what color they will be.

We have moved

Today we have moved to the countryside of Hong Kong from Mid-levels. This will be my first time living in the idyllic life of the country as I was born and raised in a big city: Tokyo.

Lupita made herself at home on the deck.

After we settled in, we went for a walk with Lupita. What we saw on the street was a big wild cow family! We realized that we really left the city and were in the country.

We live in peaceful surroundings.

Wanchai Dog Park

On Sunday, we were out all day and had to leave Lupita alone to stay at home. I felt a bit guilty when I thought of her being home alone and bored. So we decided to take her to the dog park at night even though it was already 9 pm. Thought that dogs also needed to relieve stress.

The dog park by Victoria Harbor was lit up, so it was fantastic atmosphere for dog walking. The illumination on the other side of the bay was so beautiful. It made me feel we were in the city with the so-called "million dollar night view". After we move to the countryside, we will not see Lupita with the skyscrapers as a backdrop.

Naughty girl is back!

It’s been two days since Lupita’s surgery. Yesterday she still looked drowsy and didn’t walk around during the day. But as the vet told us, she became gradually more active in the evening. I was worried when she kept sleeping, but now I am happy to see her having the energy to play with toys.

She also regained enough energy to be mischievous. She took a letter from the table and tore it to pieces. Ordinarily I yell “Hey! What do you think you are doing?” but today I didn’t feel like being upset; I just wanted to congratulate her. Really pleased to see her recovering and being as active as before.

Looking very satisfied putting her shoe collection around her – Lupita the mischief-maker.

Sterilization

Yesterday Lupita was desexed. We arrived at the vet at 9 in the morning. There was a surgical risk as she would undergo general anesthesia. We were required to sign a consent form that made me feel a little worried.

We were told to pick her up after 3. Meanwhile Scott went to work and I went home. Our home looked empty without Lupita. I realized that she was definitely a part of our family and that I had taken her for granted. In the early afternoon Scott called the vet and asked how things were going. We were relieved to hear the surgery went well and Lupita was okay.

In the evening when we picked Lupita up from the vet Lupita walked out from the recovery room all by herself. When she walked toward us she was wagging her tail. I was glad she looked like herself because I thought she would be barely able to walk. After we got home, she looked reassured to be there. The scar is about 10cm long and slightly red. There are no stitches so we don’t need to remove any sutures. Hope she will feel better soon.

She still feels very drowsy today.
