Seeing Him Off from the Car

Scott had to go to work early this morning. So I drove him to the office with Lupikona.

Scott got out of the car in the business district.

Lupikona watched Scott until he was out of sight.

Have a good day, Scott!

Baby Gecko

This gecko is our little housemate. Although I can’t bear to touch it, I think it’s cute.

Here it made an appearance from behind a book…

Another time it admired itself in the mirror.

I told Lupikona not to catch or hurt it. But one time Lupita played with it and the gecko lost its tail.

This morning I saw Lupita looking under the sofa. I thought that maybe she was looking for one of her toys.

But actually Lupita was looking at the gecko!

Its tail is now starting to grow back. Hey, baby-gecko, better watch out for Lupita so you don’t lose your tail again!

The Percher

Lupita tried to jump on top of the stone wall, but failed. So I boosted her 21kg up there.

“How nice of Yumi to lift me up here!”

Lupita was sitting comfortably up there,

but actually part of her bottom was hanging off the edge. I was worried she would fall.

Kona is not interested in perching on walls or other elevated spots.

So, the dogs marched together, one on top of the wall, and one on the ground.

Bridge View Path

Late in the afternoon…

we walked on a path that has a good view of the bridges.

The bridges were lit up, allowing us to enjoy the scenery.

The sun went down while we were walking. Recently the days have been getting shorter in Hong Kong; the end of summer is near.

When I Cheer Her On…

At the dog park yesterday...

Lupita likes to perch herself in elevated spots. She was resting on a big rock. She climbed up by herself.

After that, it seemed Lupita wanted to get up on to the platform. But she walked away because she thought it was too high for her. I encouraged her by saying “You can do it!”. Check out the video clip and see what Lupita did then. (Click ▶ to play)

“I made it!”

The Wrong Way

Driving in Hong Kong, once I take a wrong turn, it is difficult to turn around. Many streets are one-way, so if you make a wrong turn you often have to drive a long way in the wrong direction.

I went the wrong way today too. My wrong turn resulted in me going in the direction of a nice dog park, so I decided to stop there.

Oh well, never mind; as long as I can make Lupita happy.

Kona can run…

much faster than Lupita.

Kona always runs with a “Waaahh” look.

Lupita always runs with a sparkling look.

The way Lupikona play is a bit rough.

However, Lupita and Kona…

always remain attached at the hip.

That was so much fun!

In the Car

When traveling by car, Lupikona sit in the back seat of the car.

Kona was smiling.

Lupita was resting her chin on the dog car seat cover.

Lupita had a calm and cool expression because the air-con was blowing directly on her face in that position.

“Oh… it feels so good…

Zzz…” She kept sleeping soundly until we got home.

A Bit of Hong Kong @ Starbucks

I went to Starbucks with Lupikona again.

Today I had Yuen Yeung Frappuccino that is available exclusively in Starbucks Hong Kong and Macau this summer.

Yuen Yeung is a well-known Hong Kong local beverage, made of a mixture of milk tea and coffee. Starbucks here started serving it as Frappuccino.

Kona was looking at the table next to us.

The customer had two dogs too.

Lupita was also watching dogs pass by.

“Hey Yumi, can we leave now?”

Mid Autumn Festival is just one month away. Coffee flavored mooncakes are now on sale at Starbucks Hong Kong.

Lakeside Chilling

On the path that leads to the reservoir…

clop, clop, clop, clop.

Lupita went to the edge of water. Kona was dawdling along the path.

“She should just come over here with me.”

Kona was taking forever to come down so…

Lupita chilled lakeside waiting for Kona.

Newlywed Couple

I went to the beach with Kona.

Hey Kona, look back there!

Two newlyweds were shooting wedding photos. They posed hand-in-hand.

I wish you both happiness.
