Mats

I bought two mats for Lupikona.

Oh-oh, are you sharing one mat?

Zzz…

So then I put the two mats next to each other but…

oh-oh. They didn’t use the mats as I expected.

Z!

Rainy Day

Oh, no… it’s raining.

Despite the rain, we went for a walk.

After the rain, Lupita dried off with a towel.

It had been raining all afternoon, so…

Lupikona chewed on a raw lamb bone to relieve stress.

Lupita’s Usual Seat in the Car

During the hot summer months, when riding in the car Lupita always sits in the backseat resting her chin on the doggie seat cover while poking her head between the seats.

"(Pant, pant) It’s hot. Hey Yumi, can you shift the air-con vents toward me, please?"

"Ohhhhh...

it’s nice and cooool!"

Hanging Baskets

We went to the nursery with Lupikona.

There were lots of plants and flowers. We bought some flowers and hanging baskets.

After we got home…

Scott drilled holes in the wall to...

mount the flower baskets.

When it grows, it will be droopy.

Scott hung these baskets...

on the terrace.

It made our home more colorful.

Celestial Observatory

Walking on the flagstone path among the greenery...

we crossed a bridge and...

kept walking,

and then found an ancient stone structure. What is that?

Is that the ruins of a castle?

Let’s go up to see!

This is the roof.

It’s 6 meters above the ground.

"Wow!"
"What can you see, Lupita?"

Although Kona wanted to look out of window, she was too afraid to stand up. All she could do was just stick her nose up.

The incline was steep and narrow.

Actually it’s not a castle ruin…

it’s a reproduction of an ancient celestial observatory in China.

Lazy Dish

"No way! Yumi fed us ONLY dry dog food?" Kona said.
"Crunch, crunch, yum, yum..." Lupita was enjoying her food.

"It’s too boring to eat," Kona pouted.
"Crunch, crunch, yum, yum..." Lupita kept eating.

"Oh, I’m stuffed! Drink some water and...

take a nap over there." Lupita walked away.

"Yumi, could you put topping on my food, please?"

Windy Day

It was so windy in Lupikona district that the strong wind knocked down a tree.

We cut our walk short and went for coffee with doggie friends.

At a covered garden bar. It’s windy out there…

but it’s safe here. Lupita stayed calm and relaxed.

Kona is afraid of the strong wind. She acted restless and…

looked nervously around.

"You know, the wind is roaring."

"Are you sure the roof won’t be blown off?"

Lie Down to Cool Down

Lupita lay flat down on the muddy ground after the rain.

"Uh-oh, are you sure you want to rest there, Lupita?"

"Yep! It feels nice and cool underneath my tummy."

"I can stretch my left leg too." She changed her leg position.

Kona followed suit and also lay flat down. Oh well, I’ll wash you when we get home.

Muddy Nose

Kona loves digging holes on the beach.

When we decided to move to our current place which is not on the beach, some people told me…

"It’ll cause Kona to miss digging holes."

However, today when I walked out to our garden…

I saw Kona with her muddy nose!

Here is a video of my investigation of the scene. (Click ▶ to watch)

Even if we do not go to the beach Kona can still enjoy digging at home!
