Halloween

Lupikona family celebrates Halloween.

I made pumpkin soup with mint pesto.

Scott is in charge of making the Jack-o-lantern.

What is this?

We enjoyed our quiet Halloween without costumes or a big party.

Happy Halloween!

Rays of Sun

As the sunlight fell through the trees,

Kona sauntered along with her sunny smile.

Although Lupita was walking with Kona, Lupita was hidden behind Kona’s body.

Even though I cannot see Lupita in this photo, I know that she was walking with a bright smile too.

Lupita's 4th Anniversary

Today is the 4th anniversary of our adoption of Lupita.

We went to Three Dog Bakery with Lupikona.

We’ll buy you something; tell us what you want, Lupita.

Kona was happy to be in the doggie toy section.

Lupita was even not the slightest bit interested in doggie snack tasting and wanted to go home.

She likes sunbathing at home a lot better than shopping.

And of course she loves when Scott walks her.

This is Lupita’s favorite doggie chicken pie from the bakery.

She shared it half and half with Kona. It was another good day.

Rock Academy

I took Lupikona to Rock Academy.

Rock Academy is best remembered as the movie...

about kids that play in a rock band at school.

Did Yumi,

who used to play in a rock band,

try to...

teach Lupikona to be rock’n rollers like a popular dog drummer widely known in Japan??

No, no, nothing like that.

They were in a rock garden...

The name of the park was called...

Rock Academy. Hee hee.

Mountain Behind Our House

I had a walk in the hills with Lupikona today.

We walked up the mountain overlooking the village where we live.

On the white long path...

Lupikona ambled and...

ran.

We are lucky to have such a nice hiking trail near by our house...

where it is always empty as if we owned the whole mountain.

What Kona looked at was...

this.

We had fun!

A Cow Passing By

A wild cow passed by Kona. Although she actually wanted to go to the cow, she followed my “leave it!” command and tried hard to resist her desire.

Tropical Water Lily

Hey Lupita, look at the pond down there.

What Lupita saw was...

this.

"The flowers are beautiful, aren’t they, Kona?"

They have sharp petals, while the lotus we saw in June has rounded petals.

It’s a species of tropical water lily.

Elbows

During the summer, Lupita and Kona always tended to lie on the cool floor.

So the fur on their elbows is worn out now.

If I don’t do anything to prevent further irritation, they will develop calluses on their elbows. So...

I made elbow protectors for them.

But it didn’t work since they fall off easily.

So I put long-sleeved shirts on them. I hope it helps to prevent their skin from becoming worse.

Screw Pine

Although we came to the beach...

it was hot under the sun, so Lupita and Kona didn’t come out from beneath the tree.

Kona dug a hole to cool down beneath the tree.

The tree they decamped under bears a lot of big fruit.

It’s a screw pine fruit.

Full of Life

Lupikona ran...

chased each other...

played...

smiled and...

looked full of life.

The look on her face says it all!

I was thankful that we had another good day today.
