We are Going to Tokyo

The migration of Lupikona ends in Tokyo. Today is the day we moved into our house in Tokyo!

Since we loaded suitcases into the car, the dogs knew it was not an ordinary outing so they got a bit nervous.

Don’t worry Lupikona, we won’t take a plane this time.

We finally moved to Tokyo today. Lupikona looked tired. I hope they will be able to adjust to our new life in Tokyo soon.

Shadows

"Let’s play, Lupita!"

Their shadows seemed to be having fun too.

Okay, it’s about time to go home.

In a Field of Canola

In a field of canola flowers...

we played hide-and seek.

In the language of flowers, a canola stands for "a little happiness".

Everyday life with Lupikona is full of little bits of happiness that I treasure.

Feeling Balmy

I went to the park with Lupikona.

Kawazu cherry blossoms (Kawazu-zakura) are in bloom.

We enjoyed a balmy spring morning.

Sand Dollars

There are many white shells on the beach.

What kind of shell is at Lupita’s feet?

That is a sand dollar. It’s not a seashell, but is a creature related to sea urchins.

"A dollar?"

Most of them are already cracked...

but I tried to find one in as nearly perfect condition as possible.

There is a pattern on them that looks like a flower. How cute!

It is called a “Sweet bun” in Japanese. Do they look sweet?

A Nice Little Outing

We spent Sunday afternoon on a little outing. Maybe the beach looks the same, but actually this is a new beach.

Lupita and...

Kona loved it!

After playing on the beach...

we went to a nice café.

It provided a comforting environment that made me feel as if the time moved slowly there. Lupikona soaked up the atmosphere and were on their best behavior.

It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Hope you had one as well.

Here Come the Horsies

Someone is coming from the far end of the beach.

Who are they?

Oh… what are they?

They are horses. This is Lupikona’s first experience to see horses.

Hmm... they are bigger than cows.

Warmth and Happiness

Although a cold rain is falling outside, inside the house...

Lupita is sleeping with her head on the brick floor. Don't you feel too hot there, Lupita?

Kona got all warmed up and is cooling down on the floor now.

Ah, this feels like heaven.

Nice to Meet You

My parents visited us today. It was their first time meeting Lupikona.

We went to the dog-friendly local restaurant.

The grilled clams, which are a local specialty, were very good.

We sat in a circle and ate happily.

After lunch, we went to the beach.

Kona looked up at my mother and...

smiled.

While we were having coffee at home, Lupikona were...

Zzz…

Although Lupita is not good at meeting people, she was under control and quiet most of the time. That is good. However, she barked at my parents in a couple of situations at home. Oops, I did it again. I will keep trying to be a better owner so that we can share good times with my family for a long time to come.

7 a.m.

Breakfast is ready! I called Lupita, but she didn’t show up. What was she doing?

She was sitting quietly in a spot that gets the first morning sun in the room.

Every time we move home, it doesn't take Lupita long to find a sunny spot. She loves sunbathing.

Holiday Excursion

Today is Vernal Equinox Day. It’s our first public holiday after we moved to Japan. I took Lupikona for an excursion.

Our first destination was the dog run.

Kona and...

Lupita enjoyed running around to their hearts' content.

"Hey, where are we going next?"

Our second destination was...

the dog-friendly...

local seafood restaurant.

While I was having lunch...

Lupikona fell asleep.

After lunch, I took Lupikona to...

the beach!

They were full of energy after their power nap.

As we were watching surfing...

it was getting cold, so...

I stopped by the dog-friendly café for some hot coffee on our way home.

Lupikona were tired from enjoying the big day out and...

are sleeping very well tonight.

Thanks for another pleasant day.
