Storm. Later, Fine

We had gale force winds and rain and were stuck inside the house since this morning. But…

at 4:30 p.m. suddenly the sky cleared up so we went outside.

Good thing it stopped raining.

Jog, jog, jog!

Lupita rode on a pig in the middle of a big puddle.

Playing in the River

Even though it’s still March, as soon as we started walking. It got really hot.

Lupita gets tired easily when it’s hot. We stopped a few times along the way for her.

I took Lupikona to a very shallow stream. Normally they don’t like going into the water, however…

Splash!

What a rare sight: Lupita and...

Kona were willing to take to the stream and cool down their feet.

They splashed along in the water.

It looks like you are having fun. How about you try to learn to swim again this summer, Kona?

Thunberg’s Meadowsweet

Spring has come to the riverbank.

The white, pom-pom-shaped things beyond Lupita are…

Thunberg’s Meadowsweet.

Small pure-white flowers…

bloom all over the thin branches.

Lupikona are enjoying spring.

Canola Flower

Spring has come to the riverbank.

The Canola flowers are now in full bloom.

The color of canola flower gives us an uplifting feeling.

The feeling of spring lights up our faces and our hearts.

In Our Garden

The crocus I planted last fall…

bloomed in the spring sunlight.

The tulips started to come up and the hyacinth buds appeared.

Counter-clockwise from top left, Evergreen Candytuft, Otome Camellia, Kirishima Azalea, Miniature Cyclamen and Tufted Pansy.

Kona lounged around in the spring sunlight.

Lick!

Sunbathing with a beatific smile.

Kanzakura (the First Cherry-blossom of Winter)

It rained all day yesterday, but…

the sky cleared up this morning.

On the riverbank, most of cherry trees still haven’t bloomed…

but some Kanzakura trees are already in full bloom.

The cherry blossoms…

made us smile.

Jump and Touchdown

Last weekend, Scott and Lupita entertained themselves at the beach.

Scott jumped...

and...

Plop!

Lupita jumped...

and...

Thump!

They played this game over and over again.

It was the funnest game ever!

Plum Blossom Grove

Last Sunday afternoon we went for a walk to…

a plum blossom grove.

It was filled with the fragrant smell of plum blossoms.

We were lucky to be here at the best time to view plum blossoms: when they were in full bloom.
