Thinking of Lupikona

It’s the weekend at last. Scott and Lupikona went away to our beach house. I had some errands to do, so I stayed in Tokyo by myself. Scott sent me the photos of Lupikona from today for me.

Just looking at them happy makes me happy!

Going to Adoption Day

On Sunday...

I took Lupikona and Lily to a dog and cat adoption day in Futakotamagawa.

Lily saw her rescuer, Hatahata san, who rescued her from a killing shelter and fostered her.

Lily had a big smile in her arms.

Lily said hi to her foster dad.

It was good that I took Lily out to see her foster family for the first time since my parents adopted her.

Here is Lupita bothering Hatahata-san while she was taking pictures of Lily.

Lupita found little Lupita.

Lily fell asleep in peace in Hatahata-san’s arms.

I hope as many rescued dogs as possible find a good home soon.

Kona’s 6th Birthday

On her last birthday, Kona hurt her ACL and we didn’t celebrate properly. This year she’s in good shape, so it added greatly to our joy.

Happy birthday, Kona.

Nothing pleases me more than seeing you happy.

I gave one piece of the doggie cake…

to each dog.

I hope Kona’s cheerful attitude will brighten up our family’s day, every day.

Flower Walk

Showy Evening Primrose

Long-Headed Poppy

Rose Evening-Primrose

Violet Wood-Sorrel

After seeing different flowers while walking Lupikona…

I looked them up in a pictorial book of Japanese flora.

RIP

Mason and Kadie are doggie friends in Arizona that I got to know through the blog.

Kona and Lupita.

Mason, Kadie and Lupikona have lot in common. I was glad to know them. But…

I recently received the news of Kady’s death. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family.

Is she playing Frisbee up there now? I believe that she had a life full of happiness with her adopter family, and also she brought happiness into her family’s life.

Rest in peace, Kadie.

Do What One Can Do

On Sunday, at the charity dog walk event in the park…

The portrait artist, Butcher-san, supported the event…

by drawing portraits.

Lupikona supported the event by walking.

“Could you draw us too?”

He captured the image of the event…

You can see Lupita’s profile and Kona’s back shot at the bottom left of the picture.

There are lots of ways that we can give more and support charities. What can I do to help dogs who need help? I hope as many rescued dogs as possible find a good home soon.

Lupita said Hi to Strangers

On Sunday, at the charity dog walking event in the park…

Lupita met strangers and…

said hi.

The stranger petted Lupita and…

stretched her hand in front of Lupita. Oh? Lupita was unusually calm.

She lined up for treats and…

ate them gently from her hand.

But this is Lupita we’re talking about. She is still very tense when people stretch out their hands…

and she still doesn’t like being petted.

Anyhow, she behaved herself well at least for today. Is her behavior problem getting better? I hope so.

Charity Dog Walk

We joined a charity dog walk event, SANPO IN THE PARK…

with Lupikona.

We walked the dogs in the park, and then…

listened to live music.

They had a portrait artist…

a bake sale,

and charity goods stalls to raise money for animals who need to be rescued and helped.

The dogs who need homes seemed to enjoy a day out in the park.

It was good to experience meeting people and dogs for Kona and…

Lupita too.
